"T-Shaped" Conservatory

Extra information on finished builds

Customers:

Mrs. Acton

Location:

Harpenden, Hertfordshire

Materials:

Hardwood frames and roof

Dimensions:

4238m x 3095mm

Notes:

This unique timber conservatory was built onto a former outhouse turned wine cellar! A specially shaped timber box gutter was constructed, and lined with lead. As in most cases, we finished the floor at the same level as the inside of the house, and constructed steps down into the garden. The brickwork matches the existing building.

To achieve an aesthetic balance, all window, door and roof frames were carefully designed to be the same width. The roofing bars fall in line with the mullions on the windows and doors, and the top fanlights have a single vertical bar to compliment the house windows.

The front gable shows another variation on the sunburst design. Cat flaps are a common requirement, and can be incorporated into walls or door panels.
